One of my clients recently wrote to me asking me how can she move a notebook into an existing stack in the iOS and MacOS Evernote app.

Making sure you are using the Evernote Desktop app and not accessing your account via a web browser (like Chrome or Safari), you can snakily drag and drop the notebook on top of an existing stack. It will move itself inside of the targeted Stack. Otherwise, in Notebook view (click Notebooks in the left-side bar) you can right-click on the notebook and choose “add to stack“…then select the desired Stack.
If you want to create a new notebook inside of an existing Stack, in Notebook view, right-click on an existing Stack and choose “New Notebook in <stack name>.”

In the Notebook list, swipe from right to left across the notebook and tap the gear icon and tap Stack. Select the desired Stack to move your notebook into.
Common Questions
Can I share a stack?
No. Notebook stacks are only visible to you. In addition, the individual notebooks (and the notes within them) that make up a stack can be shared, but the stack itself cannot be shared.
Can I delete a stack?
Yes. Simply remove all of the notebooks from the stack. When there are no notebooks in a stack, the stack disappears. The notes and notebooks within a stack do not get deleted when you remove them from the stack.
