iOS 11 Tip – How to View and Hide the Dock on an iPad
One of the major changes for using an iPad with iOS 11 is the new Dock, which works more like the Dock on a Mac than any previous iOS Dock.
Like previous iOS docks, the Dock in iOS 11 is always showing when you’re viewing your iPad’s Home screen. However, now you can call up the Dock while you’re in an app as well.
This is handy if you want to quickly switch to another app in your Dock.
In this edition, I am going to show you to reveal the Dock when in another app.
Are you ready? Let’s go…
Halluin How to View and Hide the Dock
Remember, the Dock is always showing when you are at the home screen. Here are the steps to view the Dock when working in an app…
- Open an app. (Safari shown)
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen until the Dock appears.
- You can switch to any app in your Dock by tapping on it. (The Dock will hide itself after switching to another app.)
- Swipe down on the Dock to hide it again.
Now go ahead and try this out on your iPad. Keep in mind, this new Dock feature is only available in iOS 11 on an iPad.
In the next edition of iPad Tips & Tricks, I’ll show you more new features of the new iOS 11 Dock.
